The management positions at Galuppi’s are very unique. Galuppi’s is a failry large and spread out restaurant. Our management team is responsible for maximizing customer service. We pride ourselves in always having a manager on duty whenever Galuppi’s is open for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Inventories, scheduling, floorplans, multiple daily lineups with staff, are all job duties of any of our managers. Our managers generally work 5 to 6 days a week at 50 to 55 hours a week. Due to our banquet business, management positions at Galuppi’s can be very physically demanding due to the multiple flooplans that we set up and breakdown for on a daily basis.
Our bartenders work behind a very large and often times difficult bar. Our day time bartenders open for lunch daily at 11am and our shift change is anywhere from 345 to 430. At Galuppi’s we serve a lot of food at our bar, the full dinner menu is available. We have daily cleaning projects that must be performed per shift on various pieces of equipment behind the bar. Every 3 or 4 months we will have a bar clean on a Sunday morning where every piece of equipment is emptied, pulled out and cleaned thoroughly.
Our waitstaff at Galuppi’s is crossed trained to work both banquets and the ale cart business on our main floor. Generally in the restaurant their main focus is to ensure superior service making sure each guests visit is memorable. Due to having foodrunners on every shift, this will give our waitstaff more of an opportunity to not leave the floor and be available to our guests whenever needed.
very breakfast, lunch or dinner shift, before any food leaves the kitchen at Galuppi’s our foodrunners will double check the orders to insure presentation and quality. Our foodrunners make sure the soup or salads and bread and butter gets to the tables.
Being a busboy at Galuppi’s can be very challenging. Our busboys do the majority of the set up and breakdown for all our special events and functions. They assist the foodrunners when they get overwhelmed. They are in charge of keeping our storage units cleaned and organized. This is all over and above the work they do on a day to day basis that involves restocking the wait stations, emptying the garbage, and general cleanliness of the restaurant.
Our Hostesses pull everything together. They try not to over seat any one server, will lead guests to their seats, will often greet or take drink orders if the server is overwhelmed. They make sure the restaurant is ready for either lunch or dinner by checking volumes, lighting, tv settings, candles lit, etc.
